Specialty Cylinders
The specialty cylinder category features high pressure steel cylinders used in specialty gas applications and stationary hydrogen storage for back-up fuel cell generators.
Though we have a standard line of equipment, we also lease customized composite trailers so call us to discuss any specialized requirement you might have.
All leased equipment include:
- Multi-point safety and inspection check for each piece of equipment
- Cylinder retesting and valve replacement or rebuild
- Cylinder preparation for the gas service to used. Optional cylinder preparation for high purity gases is also available for an additional charge.
GTL can also provide a range of additional options when leasing one of its transports:
- Telemetry System-Provides remote pressure monitoring and GPS location tracking accessible on line through a desktop or mobile device.
- Heated Regulator System (HRS-1)-The HRS-1 is a self-contained, heated, pressure regulation system for CNG applications. It uses a catalytic heater fueled by the constituent gas to heat a glycol solution that circulates through a series of liquid heated regulators thereby eliminating unsafe, direct heat on the regulators.
- On-board Booster Pumps-An electric or pneumatically powered booster pump can be added to most transports to enable the user to maintain a steady outlet pressure while the transport is drained.
250bar/3,600psig Transports
Compressed Natural Gas (“CNG”) is one of the most popular gases using composite cylinder transports with storage pressures of 3,600psig or 250bar. We work with a several trailer manufacturers using composite cylinders to offer the highest capacity trailers on the market today. We have an extensive and growing fleet of rental trailers in sizes that ranging from sizes that are easily towed with a ¾ ton pick-up truck to large 40’ trailers that can more than double the CNG capacity over traditional steel trailers. Listed below are our more popular models, but contact us if you don’t see what you’re looking for.
GTM 1350/1500
This GTM series are all towable using a ¾ ton pick-up truck or better. Currently, the largest application is by gas utilities providing CNG during planned and unplanned shutdowns. These units can come with equipped with an optional self-heating, pressure regulation unit. This series can be also be leased on a pod-only basis for shipping in ISO containers or on a customer’s own flatbed or vehicle.
GTM 2350
The GTM2350 requires a one-ton pick-up truck or greater, but provides around 80,000scf of CNG in a very maneuverable package. This unit can also be supplied with an optional heated, pressure regulation system.
GTM5100
The GTM5100 is a 20’ ISO mounted package used extensively in CNG and helium services though suited for other gas applications as well. The container is CSC certified for ocean shipping.
Titan (Hexagon/Lincoln)
As the leading provider of bulk gas transport worldwide, Hexagon/Lincoln’s Titan unit is a field tested, reliable solution for moving large amounts of CNG where pipelines are absent, essentially a mobile pipeline.
350bar/5,000psig Transports
GTL’s 350bar line of products are primarily designed to transporting the maximum allowable about of gas without the need for a commercial driver’s license or HazMat endorsement. The main gas applications are hydrogen and CNG. These units can either be transported in the back of most pick-up trucks or towed by something as small as a Prius.
G-PakXL
This small, in-the-bed of a pick-up package provides users a compact, full equipped refueling platform for CNG or hydrogen vehicles. Typical G-PakXL’s are fully loaded and feature the following:
Welded aluminum frame construction
Forklift accessible and corner lifting lugs
25’ hose reel with specified fill connection
Grounding reel
Options: Restricted flow orifice and pressure regulation
MicroRefueler
The MicroRefueler is a small, single-axle trailer that pushes it to the limit on the amount of hydrogen that can be transported without a HazMat permit. In cylinder equivalent terms, the MicroRefueler has the hydrogen capacity of almost 23 steel cylinder for a fraction of the weight. The biggest, foreseeable application for the MicroRefueler is to support hydrogen powered vehicles along with fuel cell powered drones and generators.
450bar/6,525psig and 517bar/7,500psig Transports
These large transports are designed almost exclusively for hydrogen applications and, depending upon the configuration, expands the carrying capacity behind a tractor by almost three times (3x) over conventional steel tube trailers. This line of transports can be configured with one to three pods that are designed to be interconnected to function as one. Features include:
Pneumatically (self-contained) controlled valves, ideal for cascade filling
ESD system on each Pod
Heavy-wall, medium pressure tubing (working pressure 15,000psig)
Easy cylinder access
Depending upon the application most trailers can be leased with various accessories:
Heated Regulator System (HRS)-This self-heated pressure regulation system keeps pressure regulators from freezing up using liquid heated regulators that will handle flow rates of 10mscfh as the trailer is discharged. The HRS is simple to use and has safety features to insure worry-free operation in the coldest of conditions.
Gas Refilling/Recovery Cart (GRC)-The GRC system can be integrated into most of our trailers and provide users a mobile platform for refilling CNG vehicles to 3.600psig while the trailer pressure decreases. Additionally, the GRC system allows customers to evacuate CNG from vehicle tanks or pipelines, storing the gas in the trailer, and then refilling the vehicle afterwards. This feature has become popular with CNG vehicle maintenance facilities seeking to reduce emissions and improve workplace safety.
Telemetry-All of our units can be equipped with a telemetry system that allows customers to access real time pressure and location information on their trailer or receive programmable alerts/alarms with certain pressure levels occur.
